PulsarGuard 2001 Sand Sensor:
The PulsarGuard 2001 sand Sensor is an Ultrasonic acoustic sensor designed primarily for use by the oil and gas industry. Used with the iSensys SandAlert sand monitoring system.
The Sand Sensor is connected to the outside of the pipeline with a stainless steel clamp (there is no need to enter the pipe or interrupt the flow). The sensor detects changes in the acoustic signature of the flow within the pipe and converts this into a sand/solid impact ratio. Because the Sand Sensor monitors only a narrow frequency band, it is highly resistant to background noise interference in liquid or gas flows.
The Pulsar Guard 2001 sand sensor is an IP68 protected and intrinsically safe unit made of 316 stainless steel (ATEX EEx ia IIC T4). It can be installed on any pipe diameter and located up to 1,000 m (3,280 ft) from the iSensys SandAlert Monitor using standard instrument cabling.
