Doppler Flowmeter DFM 6.1
Measures the flow rate of dirty or aerated liquids such as wastewater, chemicals, acids, muddy water, corrosive and viscous liquids. Recommended for all liquids containing solids and air bubbles and for fully filled pipes.
Doppler Flowmeter DFM 6.1, 12.7 mm / ½ inchç. It is mounted on the outer surface of larger diameter plastic or metal-based pipes. To measure flow, the acoustic signal is reflected back to the sensor from particles or gas bubbles moving in the liquid. Installation is easily done without shutting down the flow system. There is no contact with the moving liquid. There is no need for pipe cutting and pipe drilling. There is no contamination or sediment or tartar accumulation on the sensor.
Doppler Flowmeter DFM 6.1; It includes an ultrasonic sensor, 5-button calibration system, large digital display showing flow rate and total quantity, isolated 4-20mA analog output and two programmable control relays. ; Includes 128 MB data logger with 26 million data capacity. MODBUS RTU and HART communication protocols are optional.
Easy Calibration
Doppler Flowmeter DFM 6.1 includes user-friendly calibration. Selection of pipe diameter and measurement units is made from the keypad of the device. You can easily adjust your flow meter a few times. You can calibrate it in minutes.
Easy Installation
Each Doppler Flowmeter DFM 6.1 comes with a clamp-on ultrasonic sensor, adjustable stainless steel mounting clamp and acoustic coupler gel. The sensor can be mounted on the outer surface of any pipe with a diameter of 12.7 mm (½”) or larger. Installation takes just a fewç It takes minutes. There is no need to interrupt the flow.

This specification covers a clamp-on, ultrasonic Doppler flowmeter manufactured by Greyline Instruments Inc., Largo, Florida / Long Sault, Ontario. The meter will provide non-invasive speed or flow measurement, direction indication and transmission of flow rate in a full pipe.
A. PERFORMANCE FEATURES
The flow meter will operate with a single-head flow sensor mounted externally over any adjacent pipe material that conducts sound, including but not limited to carbon steel, stainless steel, ductile iron, cement coated ductile iron, copper, FRP, PVC or ABS. Pipe from 1/2" to 180" (12.5 mm to 4.5 m) ID.
+0.1 to +40 ft/sec and -0.1 to -40 ft/sec (+0.03 to +12.2 m/sec and -0.03 to -12.2 m) with ±2% accuracy of reading Measure and display flow rates between (/sec) or ±0.1 ft/sec (whichever is greater) in liquids containing particles or gases 100 microns or larger and with minimum concentrations of 75 ppm.
B. TRANSFORMER (FLOW SENSOR)
The flow sensor will be single-headed, ultrasonic in a stainless steel body. It will be installed outside the pipe without interrupting the flow. The sensor shall be capable of continuous operation at temperatures from -40°F to 300°F (-40°C to 150°C) and shall be able to withstand accidental submersion pressures up to 10 psi. Manufacturer's recommended joint compound and stainless steel mounting clamp will be included.
The 25 ft (7.6 m) sensor cable will include shielded coaxial pair.
Able to extend sensor cable up to 500 ft (152 m) without requiring operator adjustment.
The transformer shall be isolated and designed to meet intrinsic safety requirements. It will be designed for maximum industrial noise rejection and will be CE tested.
The sensor shall be rated as non-flammable for Class I, Division 2, Group A, B, C and D locations.
C. TRANSMITTER
The transmitter indicator will be housed in a NEMA4X (IP 66) polyester and polycarbonate enclosure suitable for wall mounting, with a gasket, shatterproof window, waterproof and dustproof.
The electronics of the flow meter shall be designed to operate at temperatures between -10°F and 140°F (-23°C and 60°C). Electronic circuits are interchangeable with other flowmeters of the same model number. The transmitter circuit and calibration frequency standard will be crystal controlled. The transmitter will be powered by 100-240VAC 50/60Hz requiring less than 10 VA power.
The transmitter will include a built-in 5-Key programming system where parameters are selected by the operator via visual commands from a menu system. Systems that require programming with parameter codes or external calibrators will not be accepted.
The 4-20mA output will have proportional and isolated flow with programmable zero and full scale offsets. The maximum resistive load will be 1000 ohms.
It will include noise suppression circuitry to filter out electrical interference and will be tested for industrial noise immunity to CE certification, European Directive 2014/30/EU.
It will have UL/CSA/EN 61010-1 certification.
It features a white, backlit matrix LCD display that displays important diagnostics such as flow rate and sum in user-selected engineering units, relay statuses, and signal strength.
Have 2 SPDT control relays rated at 5 amps. Relays shall be programmable for flow proportional pulse output or as flow rate alarms with individual ON/OFF setpoints.
It will display and collect forward and reverse flow.
Get a built-in 26 million point data logger with USB output to a flash drive or mass storage device. Includes Windows software for drawing and exporting.
The electronics will be modular and field replaceable thanks to plug-in circuit boards. The device will automatically detect and load software menus for field-installed options.
D. ADDITIONAL FEATURES TO BE ADDED TO THE SPECIFICATIONS AS NECESSARY:
The sensor shall be rated as intrinsically safe to Class I, Group C, D; Class II, Groups E,F,G; Class III with Intrinsic Safety Barrier.
The sensor cable will be 50 ft (15m) long shielded coaxial pair.
