Product Description
The Pulsar Guard 2001 sand sensor is an ultrasonic acoustic sensor that has been designed primarily for use by the oil and gas industry. It is used in conjunction with the iSensys SandAlert sand monitoring system.
The sand sensor is connected to the outside of the pipeline with a stainless steel band (no need to break into a pipe or interrupt service) and detects changes in the acoustic signature of flow within the pipe and converting that into a sand/solids impact rate. As the sand sensor monitors only a narrow frequency band, it is highly resistant to interference from background noise, fluid or gas flow.
The Pulsar Guard 2001 sand sensor is an intrinsically safe unit (ATEX EEx ia IIC T4) made from 316 stainless steel with environmental protection to IP68. It can be fitted to any pipe diameter and may be positioned up to 1,000 m (3,280 ft) away from the iSensys SandAlert Monitor using a standard instrument cable connection.
