Product Description

FlowPulse is a non-invasive flow sensor that clamps to the outside of a pipe and is simply secured with a screwdriver. The sensor uses a novel spread spectrum analysis technique, which incorporates a Digital Signal Processing approach that gives exceptional repeatability. FlowPulse fires ultrasound through a variety of pipe walls (rigid plastic, stainless steel, cast iron, and even corrugated pipes) at 90 degrees to the flow via a tangentially mounted high-output ceramic, it is then refracted at angles across the axis of the flow and is then reflected from bubbles, particles, and vortices in all directions at a wide range of frequencies – which is why the ideal application for this product is within dirty/contaminated flow.

The sensor provides a significant cost saving as opposed to other flow meters as there is no need to break into the pipe, involve civil engineers, or interrupt the service. The digital platform used with FlowPulse offers robust performance in the repeatability of measurement, as well as the flexibility to adapt to application requirements, features such as damping, and response time can easily be customized to suit.

The sensor can operate as a stand-alone device, requiring 18-28 V DC – if used as a stand-alone device, FlowPulse will require programming via software and lead provided. You can optionally combine this sensor with a dedicated wall-mounted device providing alarm or control relays. For fully portable flow readings, you can combine this sensor with the FlowPulse HandHeld controller for an instant indication of flow. For pump monitoring and/or efficiency indication, combine FlowPulse with a pump controller from the Pulsar Pump Control range for a full range of comprehensive pump control routines.
